Programs and Events

From lectures to children’s events, the East Tennessee Historical Society offers a variety of programs and events designed to educate and inform the public, as well as to bring history to life and connect us with the history and heritage of this special region.  Most are free and open to the public. They include:

• Brown Bag Lecture Series—bring a lunch and enjoy a lecture
• Quarterly Lecture—held on Sunday afternoons and featuring a special speaker and topic
• Genealogy Workshops—a monthly series with classes running the gamut from beginners to Internet genealogy and other how-to topics
• Members Preview Exhibition Openings
• East Tennessee History Festival—celebrating and enjoying the history around us, includes variety of adult and childlren's activities
• ETHS Annual Meeting of the Membership and Awards—a coming together of members and guests from across the region to recognize the accomplishments of the past year and to present awards for special projects by individuals and organizations
• Holiday Open House—crafts, music, visit by a Victorian Santa, cookies and apple cider
