Parking:
The East Tennessee History Center is located at the corner of Gay Street and Clinch Avenue, directly across from the Tennessee Theatre.  Parking is available at various nearby public parking lots and garages, including:
  • State Street Parking Garage
    520 State St., Knoxville, TN 37902
  • Locust Street Parking Garage
    540 Locust St., Knoxville, TN 37902
  • Market Square Garage
    406 Walnut St., Knoxville, TN 37902
Parking is free in the State Street, Locust Street, and Market Square garages, and on all metered parking, after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday.


Public Transportation:
Transportation in the Knoxville area is fast and easy!  Knoxville Area Transit, KAT, provides fixed route bussing services throughout the city of Knoxville, including routes in the downtown area.  Knoxville Trolley Lines is the city of Knoxville’s free shuttle service, offering transportation between the University of Tennessee and the downtown area.  Hop on the Blue or Orange lines at any of their specified locations for a quick ride to the East Tennessee History Center!
