Teaching American History Grants
The East Tennessee Historical Society has served as project director for three U.S. Department of Education Teaching American History Grants (TAH) in East Tennessee (2003, 2006, 2010). These grants are awarded for quality teacher professional development projects developed by public school/historical agency partnerships.
Please visit
www.teachamericanhistory.org to learn more about the projects we have served, including the current "Enduring Visions" project with Anderson, Sevier, and Union Counties. Not only is there information about the TAH projects themselves but there are freely accessible teacher and students materials posted there.
If you would like more information about the TAH program or other partnership opportunities with the East Tennessee Historical Society, please contact Lisa Oakley at 865-215-8828 or
