Suffrage Showdown: Tennessee’s Pivotal Role in Votes for Women

August 15, 2020 to October 31, 2020

ETHS is taking a two-pronged approach to celebrating the 100th Anniversary of women gaining the right to vote in our nation. Several pivotal moments from Tennessee’s history will serve as the underpinning to mount two versions, a museum version and a virtual version, of a highly visible exhibition. The exhibition will showcase Tennessee’s role in the national debate and how Tennessee became the “Perfect 36th” state needed to secure national ratification.
