History speaks through the Museum of East Tennessee History's permanent and changing exhibits, which focus on East Tennessee's rich history and heritage. Traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian and other venues also share special stories from our past. 
 
The Museum's new permanent signature exhibit, Voices of The Land: The People of East Tennessee, opens to the public on August 23, 2008 and features:

•  8,500 square feet of permanent exhibition space
•  More than 500 artifacts, some on public view for the
    first time
•  Over 350 'voices,' the statements of East Tennesseans
    from the 1700s through today
•  The history of 35 counties in East Tennessee
•  25 media programs, including three touch screen
    interactive, and three feature videos
•  One and only exhibition celebrating the history of East
    Tennessee
