Membership & Giving

Membership and financial contributions to the East Tennessee Historical Society help to underwrite award winning educational programs and outreach, the operation of our world-class museum and the continued preservation of the region's history.  Visitation, outreach and impact for all programming at the East Tennessee History Center typically reaches more than 150,000 individuals annually.  The excellence of the ETHS programs and museum continues to be recognized as demonstrated by the seven awards received in 2013 by the Tennessee Association of Museums.

Basic membership options are available to Students, Individuals and Families for affordable dues ranging between $25 and $45.  Joining as a Member Donor giving $75 or more also includes memberships in the East Tennessee Historical Society and your additional contribution is tax-deductible.  Membership gives you free museum admission all year, special publications, and a 10% discount in the museum gift shop.  Our members and donors also enjoy preview receptions for the changing feature exhibits highlighted in the Museum Upcoming and Past Exhibit Galleries.  Throughout 2013-2015 we will continue the Civil War 150th Sesquincentennial Celebration with several changing exhibits to be mounted in the Rogers-Claussen Feature Gallery and special programming on the subject.

The menu of giving options are highlighted here and include contributions to operating support through Annual Giving, Corporate Partners and Sponsors, Tribute Giving or make a multi-year commitment by joining the 1834 Society, and to ensure permanent support of the society programs and museum contributions may also be made to the Endowment Fund entrusted to the separate ETHS Foundation through Bequests, Planned Giving and Pillars of Support.  To assist with continuing to preserve the region's stories and treasures, you can Adopt an Artifact or Donate an Artifact to the museum's Permanent Collection.
