Barbara Arant

Honorary Board Member

Barbara Arant is a past president of the East Tennessee Historical Society.  She is very active in the Knoxville civic community, where she is currently involved in Leadership Knoxville (Class of 1992), Knoxville Garden Club, and the Zoofari Committee-Knoxville Zoo.  Among her many past and president activities are board service with the Junior League of Knoxville, Character Counts!, Chancellor’s Associates, University of Tennessee, and the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center.  A native of Maryland, she holds a B.S. in nursing from Duke University.  She and her husband, William Edward Arant, Jr., have two children and reside in Knoxville.
