George K. Schweitzer


George K. Schweitzer, Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, holds three doctorates, chemistry, history, and philosophy.  His research has to do with the development of PET body scanners and the detection of the radioactivity of fissionable materials.  His many interests include genealogical research, local history, teaching genealogical techniques using the internet, conducting tours of the East Tennessee Historical Society Museum, and investigations in the intersecting spheres of science and religion.
